Thomas Westra knows metal. He’s been working with it since 1996, designing, creating and selling contemporary metal furniture and sculpture. The main focus of his work has been forged steel lizards. Lizards in many different sizes and shapes, varying poses and with a variety of expressions.

Having been at the markets for over ten years, Thomas was experimenting with iron design and leant towards the lizard shape as it allows him to creatively express personalities and shapes to create decorative lizards, as well as lizards with a variety of functions. His range includes tea towel holders, paper towel holders, the ‘loo lizard’ which holds toilet paper rolls, a key holder, garden hose holder, hat and coat hangers and door knockers.
