It is impossible to miss the delight and colour that is the Splatter stall at the Old Bus Depot Markets – located at the top of the inside ramp.  The Old Bus Depot Markets has been a shopfront and business home for Splatter for 14 years, with their gorgeous range of children’s artwork and crafts delighting both young and old alike.

Splatter has certainly managed to master the art of putting smiles on children’s faces and their creations can be seen all over the world. Splatter artwork graces the walls of Robinson’s Centrepoint Store in Singapore in the form of a large ‘mosaic’ installation — a graphic wall of 320 mini paintings — as well as the walls of many a child’s bedroom.

Angela Maher started Splatter in 1996 determined to create beautiful, inspiring and meaningful products. Originally Splatter’s roots were in ceramic home wares and tiles but soon found their way onto canvas. Input from then part-time Artistic Consultant, full-time Horticulturist Christopher Martin, who joined the team in 1997, also influenced the transition to canvas creations. It was not long after Christopher hung up his secateurs and came aboard as a full time artist and Creative Director in 2005 that Splatter became a fully fledged company.

Christopher holds a Diploma in Cartooning and Illustration (on top of his Diploma of Applied Science in Horticulture) and his artwork is incredibly simple in form, yet still able to convey an in-depth, sophisticated character.
