Welcome to our dedicated webpage for the Canberra Wool Expo 2019! The event will be held at The Old Bus Depot Markets on both Saturday and Sunday on 18 and 19 May, 2019. We’ve seen many wool producers, makers, and enthusiasts from different regions in Australia visit us for the Canberra Wool Expo. We hope you can join us for this woolly popular event.

Workshops

Macrame with Annette Boyd

Annette, from Annette Boyd Art and Design, uses natural materials to create beautiful handmade Macramé sculptures, hanging pots and wall hangers – and is a casual stallholder at the Old Bus Depot Markets.

In this two and a half hour workshop, you will learn several basic macrame knots – handy for making all kinds of home decor items and accessories.

Crocheted w/ Love by Frances Carleton

Frances from Crochet w/ Love creates a unique range of hand crocheted items, made from only premium natural fibres, such as wool, merino, yak, alpaca, cashmere, cotton, and llama down.

No patterns are used and every item is a one-off, never to be repeated. As such, each item is unique and has a name, just like a work of art.

Julie Hofer from Petlyn Fibre Products

Julie Hofer with her husband Joe, own Petlyn Fibre Products and Petlyn Park Alpacas. In 1999 they purchased their property and bought their fist girls, Pearl & Monica. It was Julie’s love of the fibre and interest in learning to process their own fleeces which took her on a search to find the appropriate tools needed. After finding it difficult to obtain combs and other fibre processing items in Australia, they embarked on an 18-month research and trial to create their own.

North East Yarns specialises in Corriedale sheep. They provide a diverse range of products from raw fibre to the things that will keep you warm in winter.
