Canberra Wool Expo: A Celebration of Wool
Welcome to our dedicated webpage for the Canberra Wool Expo 2019! The event will be held at The Old Bus Depot Markets on both Saturday and Sunday on 18 and 19 May, 2019. We’ve seen many wool producers, makers, and enthusiasts from different regions in Australia visit us for the Canberra Wool Expo. We hope you can join us for this woolly popular event.

Workshops
Macrame with Annette Boyd
Annette, from Annette Boyd Art and Design, uses natural materials to create beautiful handmade Macramé sculptures, hanging pots and wall hangers – and is a casual stallholder at the Old Bus Depot Markets.
In this two and a half hour workshop, you will learn several basic macrame knots – handy for making all kinds of home decor items and accessories.

Crocheted w/ Love by Frances Carleton
Frances from Crochet w/ Love creates a unique range of hand crocheted items, made from only premium natural fibres, such as wool, merino, yak, alpaca, cashmere, cotton, and llama down.
No patterns are used and every item is a one-off, never to be repeated. As such, each item is unique and has a name, just like a work of art.

Julie Hofer from Petlyn Fibre Products
Julie Hofer with her husband Joe, own Petlyn Fibre Products and Petlyn Park Alpacas. In 1999 they purchased their property and bought their fist girls, Pearl & Monica. It was Julie’s love of the fibre and interest in learning to process their own fleeces which took her on a search to find the appropriate tools needed. After finding it difficult to obtain combs and other fibre processing items in Australia, they embarked on an 18-month research and trial to create their own.

Jan Ditchfield began her business 20 years ago determined to create original works of art by painting on an All-Australian product. With beautiful mixes and patterns, each piece is one of a kind.
Frank Williams Spindle Maker
Frank Williams is a retired carpenter turned spindle maker through his passion of woodwork. He now spends his retirement catering to orders for spindles from overseas.
North East Yarns
North East Yarns specialises in Corriedale sheep. They provide a diverse range of products from raw fibre to the things that will keep you warm in winter. They will be bringing back “ghost gum”, 70{3af86be1dbf6b50cd03e2bcd2285762760e37a6f5d377a4d478ea180667b1e3d} wool and 30{3af86be1dbf6b50cd03e2bcd2285762760e37a6f5d377a4d478ea180667b1e3d} silk, which they’ve found to create beautiful products.

Granite Haven Llamas & Gotland Sheep
Granite Haven Llamas & Gotland Sheep houses a 300-acre farm situated in the Strathbogie ranges in Victoria. Gotland sheep are rare in Australia. They are truly a triple-purpose breed providing soft long lustrous staple with natural colours from silver grey to black and all the nuances in between.
Lindner Quality Socks
There’s a lot that can be said about the Lindner story originating from 1920’s Germany and continuing through today. Simply put, Lindner knows socks.
Adagio Mills
Adagio Mills is the dream of Andrew and Nadine Hulme that has become a reality. All their yarns are proudly made in Orange, NSW and they strongly believe that Australian manufacturing can be sustainable.

EKnits Studio makes stunning, one-of-a-kind handmade scarves in a range of styles and colours.

Yarn Barn are Australian manufacturers & retailers of merino and exotic hand-knitting yarn and fibres.
Camelot Mohair
Camelot was established since the 1970s, breeding Angora goats which produced superfine luxury kid mohair. They are now selling their sought-after yarns previously exclusive to their designer pieces.

Baa Boots
This stall trades Australian-made Ugg boots (3 lengths), sheepskin slippers, scuffsoad, moccasins to size 14. A full range of children’s slippers. Boots, booties and moccasins are available.
Nullarbor Nights Knitwear
Nullarbor Nights was established in 1991. All Nullarbor Nights Clothing and Accessories are hand- crafted in the Canberra region, the wool and silk products are hand-dyed in the glorious colors of the Australian landscape.

Using the finest Australian cashmere, the Belisa range of contemporary classics includes jumpers, cardigans, jackets, scarves and beanies.
3R’s Knitting
Bron Matheson of 3R’s Knitting is always up for a bit of knitting natter and we’re excited to have her. Drop by her stall for a quick chat and to have a feel of her handmade scarves and shawls at the Canberra Wool Expo.
